You don't need to have it all and do it all

I got this in my inbox and it was too good not to share.

For years, we’ve been told the myth of a supermum: We can have it all, be it all, and do it all. But this unattainable goal leaves too many talented women disappointed, exhausted, and stressed out.

Don’t let the pressure to be supermum weigh you down and steal your joy! Instead:

Invest in yourself. A little self-care goes a long way. The wisest women in my life know this to be true! Rest when you need to, make time to exercise, and nourish your physical body with healthy food.

Stop the comparisons. Each of us has been gifted with unique strengths and abilities. Let your measuring stick for success be as unique as you are, and not dictated by someone else.

Set your priorities. There are only 24 hours in each day. Determine what’s the most important and say no—or “later”— to the rest.

Accept help. Let people help you. You weren’t meant to do it all on your own.

Take one step at a time. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, or so the saying goes. Don’t allow yourself to be overwhelmed by the bigness of what you’d like to accomplish. Make a plan, break it down into bite-sized steps, and give your full attention to the task at hand.
